Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does the Automatic Baby Rocker fit all prams and 3-wheelers?
There are hundreds of makes and models of prams on the market, and we have yet to find one the DreamMover Automatic Baby Rocker doesn't fit. 2. Does the DreamMover Baby Rocker really work with all baby equipment?
The DreamMover Automatic Baby Rocker has been designed as a platform to accommodate virtually every piece of baby equipment including prams, pushchairs, cribs, moses baskets, changing mats, car seats, baby bouncers and anything else you may have in your Nursery. And there are no special attachments required. Simply place the baby and carrier onto the DreamMover baby rocker, switch it on and sit back and relax. Yes, you can transform all your baby equipment into rocking equipment by placing it on the DreamMover.

3. How does the Automatic Baby Rocker work to soothe my baby?
The Automatic Baby Rocker supplied by DreamMover slides backwards and forwards about 6 centimetres and in time with a mother's heartbeat to provide a gentle rocking movement that babies love. The baby rocker also incorporates vibration and noise to replicate the physical stimuli of the womb, conditions that are very comforting to a baby. In simple terms, it replicates a parent pushing a pram backwards and forwards but without the physical effort normally required - the DreamMover does it all for you!

4. So using the DreamMover is simply a way of putting your baby to sleep?
We have found during extensive trials and observations with hundreds of babies that they are just as happy to be awake on the DreamMover. If tired, they will fall asleep. But many parents discovered that their babies were content to sit or lie on their Automatic Baby Rocker and watch what was going on around them. This allowed parents to get on with other things such as preparing meals, helping other children with homework, doing e-mail and a hundred other things.
The other great feature of the DreamMover is that you don't have to move the baby after it falls asleep. Simply place the crib or moses basket onto the Automatic Baby Rocker and switch it off once the baby has fallen asleep.

5. Is the baby rocker designed to affect the role of the parents in nursing a baby?
Absolutely not. The love and affection parents transmit to a baby by rocking their baby in their arms is the most important thing in the world to a baby. Babies need love, and parents and carers are the only ones who can transmit love to a baby. However, studies have shown that even the most energetic of parents can only nurse the baby for a few hours a day. For the rest of the day, babies are much happier being rocked than lying in a static environment, and this is where the Automatic Baby Rocker called the DreamMover comes in. It can run for as long as required and it only costs one-sixth of a lightbulb in electricity.

6. Will it become habit forming for the baby?
No more than rocking a baby in a pram or taking the baby for a run in the car to get it to sleep. There is absolutely no evidence of any side effects with the DreamMover, in fact quite the opposite. Research evidence has shown that babies rocked on a specially designed rocking cot, similar in action to the DreamMover, slept better, cried less and developed better when measured on baby development tests.

7. What's the best time to use the DreamMover?
When returning from a walk with the pushchair or returning home in the car, simply put the pushchair or car seat onto the DreamMover and it will keep the baby asleep until you are ready to lift the baby. Anytime during the day or at bedtime, the DreamMover is perfect for getting a tired baby to sleep. If you have serious sleep problems with your baby, feel free to use the DreamMover for as long as you like with no side-effects. Through time, parents find a formula that suits the particular needs of their baby.

8. How safe is the DreamMover?
It has been rigorously tested to the highest standards, and is very safe for babies and other small children in the family. The base units sits on four rubber pads to prevent any slippage on wooden or tiled floors. There are wheel gutters to secure the non-locking wheels on a pram or pushchair. All baby equipment lies flat, and the movement is soft and gentle. The sliding mechanism is fully encased so even the most inquisitive fingers will be safe. The product has been approved to European, American and Australian safety standards.

9. Is an Automatic Baby Rocker expensive to run?
The DreamMover uses less than a fifth of the amount of electricity needed to power an ordinary light bulb. It plugs into the mains so there are no expensive batteries to buy. An adapter is fitted to reduce the power to the unit down to 12 volts, the same as a personal computer.

10 Is the DreamMover difficult to set up and use?
The DreamMover has been specifically designed for ease of use. Apart from the unit, there are only two wires, and it can be running within a minute of taking it out of the box.

11. How about flexibility of use?
The DreamMover is lightweight and portable so it can be used anywhere in the house or in anyone else's house if you are visiting family or friends. It can be placed in any position so the baby can see its mother or carer while being peacefully rocked. It has been tested to take up to 35 kgs in weight and can therefore be used for that afternoon nap up to 4 years of age. When not in use it takes up very little space as it can be stored on its side, either behind a couch or in a cupboard.

12 Can the Automatic Baby Rocker be easily cleaned?
It can easily be wiped clean with a damp cloth.
